My name is Chelsea. I am a registered nurse, and have worked on a general surgery unit since I graduated with a BScN in 2008. After having a baby in early 2012, I was looking for a way to use my nursing skills and knowledge in other ways (and avoid shift work!), and I decided to pursue teaching. I began teaching nursing (LPN) and health care aide students at VCC in the fall of 2013, in both the clinical and classroom setting. I have really enjoyed this experience, and am eager to learn how to be a better instructor through completing the PID Program. I am currently completing my last PIDP course prior to the Capstone Project. I am already wondering what other instructional development courses I can pursue when I have finished PIDP.
In my leisure time I play French horn with the Royal City Concert Band. I also enjoy playing with my children (ages 4 and 2), tackling DIY home reno projects and spending time outdoors.
He’s adorable!! Congratulations.
